Martha Frances Davis McMaster, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 96 at Providence Assisted Living in Grenada. She was born January 16, 1923 in Tie Plant to W.D. and Nancy Downey Davis. Frances was a 1940 graduate of Grenada High School She began a career at Binswanger Mirror Co. in 1954 and retired 34 years later. She was an active member of First Baptist Church – Grenada where she had been a member for 83 years. She had taught both fifth grade girls and the Senior Adult Ladies class in Sunday School. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union. She is also a former member of the Grenada Pilot Club where she served in several offices including President. She also participated in the Community Bible Study serving as a group leader.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Grenada with Dr. John Boler officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Davis(Charles) and Betty Brister(Ward); three granddaughters, Marty Lea(Kenny), Betty Cummings(David) and Mary Catherine Guinn(Brian), all of Grenada; a grandson, Davis Brister(Suzanne) of Mandeville, LA; and nine great-grandchildren, Parker Lancaster(Anna), Anna Catherine Easterling(Morgan), Justin Lea(Milo), Jordan Lea, McKenzie Cummings, Matt Cummings, Jacob Brister, Patrick Brister and Ryan Brister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Lou Pittman; brother, Ralph Davis; and two nieces, Betty Faye Pittman and Nancy Tribble.
Pallbearers will be Davis Brister, David Cummings, Matt Cummings, Morgan Easterling, Parker Lancaster, Justin Lea and Kenny Lea.
Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church – Grenada or the charity of the donor's choice.
