Louie Franklin Hood Jr., 25, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at his residence. Franklin was born May 28, 1992, in Grenada to Dr. L. Franklin Hood Sr. and Beth Birdsong Hood.
Franklin attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Honor society. He had also worked as a medical assistant for his father at Rainbow Medical Clinic in Gadsden, Alabama. Franklin was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Wednesday at McKibben and Guinn.
He is survived by his mother, Beth Birdsong Hood of Grenada, father, Frank Hood Sr. of Gadsden, Al; maternal grandfather, Weston Birdsong of Grenada; siblings Weston Hood of Grenada, Kris Hood of Birmingham, Tad Hood of Kansas City, Susie McSweeney of Birmingham, and Brittany Hood Knill of Kansas City.
Franklin was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sadie Morgan Birdsong of Grenada, and paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Lonie W. Hood of Orlando, Fl.
Pallbearers will be John David Bass, Justin Blaylock, Shannon Clemonts, Dallas Cupit, Hunter Davis, Kris Hood, Weston Hood, Vallon Sanders, and Hunter Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Franklin's memory to Tunica Humane Society, Post Office Box 236, Tunica MS 38676.
