Mr. Fred Deward Prewitt, 78, of Grenada, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  He was born February 12, 1943 in Choctaw County to Rufus Clarence and Opal Walker Prewitt.  Fred retired after working in Maintenance for many years at Hankins Lumber Company.  He was a member of the Van Dorn Street Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Bro. Charles Blair officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Union Church of Christ Cemetery in Carroll County.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service Wednesday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Prewitt; a daughter, Elizabeth Prewitt of Grenada; son, John Prewitt of Batesville; two grandchildren, Kaylann Johnsey(Josh) of Grenada and Megan Burnell(Ben) of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Gatlin and Jenna Beth Johnsey; two sisters, Edie Villarrubia(John) of Metairie, LA and Dorothy Fowler(Greg) of Bradenton, FL; and a brother, Larry Prewitt(Ellen) of Wilmington, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
