Mrs. Freddie Jean Jackson Gray, 72, of Tillatoba, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1948 in Charleston to Fred and Bernice Lowery Jackson. Freddie enjoyed a 31 year-long career at Pennaco Hosiery. A devoted family woman, Freddie enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking for them. Fishing and watching old home movies were among her many hobbies.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 7, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. James McElroy officiating. Interment will follow in the Elam Cemetery near Coffeeville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service Friday all at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Doubleday(Jason) of Tillatoba; two sisters, Virginia Grubbs and Myra Dempsey, both of Grenada; two brothers, Johnny Jackson and Danny Jackson, both of Tillatoba; five grandchildren, James Doubleday, Jordan Doubleday, Allison Hill, Stephanie Hill and Tracy Coker; four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Sophia, Ethan and Natalie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Gray; son, James Melvin Gray; and two sisters, Mary Jackson and Nancy Redwine.
