IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geraldine Lucius
Dye
October 16, 1937 – November 29, 2020
Mrs. Geraldine Lucius Dye, the most caring, loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend God ever created peacefully passed from this life and met Jesus face to face Sunday, November 29, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born October 16, 1937 in Calhoun County, the third of nine children, to Spencer D. and Alto Hood Lucius. A true Southern Belle, she was a lady of grace, dignity, and refinement. She could always be found with an outstretched hand to "the least of these" – quietly trying to help those who were less fortunate. While she certainly did leave her mark in this world, the impact that she had as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ was paramount to her. Her zest for life, encouraging attitude and loving spirit were all contagious – she lived her life in service to others. Geraldine enjoyed over 30 years working in the Farm Credit System at the First South Production Credit Association office in Calhoun City. The relationships she developed with her customers were near and dear to her heart. She was a member of Derma Baptist Church and was very active as long as her health allowed. Geraldine taught children's Sunday school when her children were growing up and served as a hostess at the church for many years. She also directed numerous weddings and enjoyed sharing this talent with many young couples through the years. Having come from a farm family, Geraldine enjoyed the outdoors and working in her flowers and yard. While we grieve in the loss of this loved one, we find comfort in knowing her faith is now sight and she is whole again.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Derma Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until service time Tuesday at the church.
