Obituary

Ruby Geraldine Cole Lyons Harbin, age 76, retired Avaya Communication Manager, died Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford.  Ms. Harbin was born on September 30, 1945, and was a native of Grenada, being the youngest daughter of Wayne and Ruby June (Betty Lou) Yielding Cole of the Futheyville Community.

Funeral services will be held at­ 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Tribble and Bro. Reuben Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Tuesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Geraldine was a graduate of John Rundle High School, Class of 1963 and was of the Baptist faith. While working for various telephone entities, Geraldine was employed in Grenada, Greenwood, Jackson, New Orleans, Birmingham, Dallas and Atlanta, returning to Jackson to retire after 35 years of service in 2001. After retiring from Avaya, she pursued a career with the law firm of Herring Long and Crews and Earth Consulting Group, Environmental Consultants in the Canton Area, officially retiring in 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, Celina Rhea Lyons McNatt Hayward (Marc) and Teri Michele Lyons Sims (Glen Perry) of Grenada, four granddaughters, April Kristen McNatt Winter, Amber Nicole Floyd Smith, Hannah Rhea Sims Gibson (Justin) and Macie Jordan McNatt, five great-grandchildren, Charlie Beth and Klayton Hayes Winter, Jaxon Chase Williamson and Henley Grace Smith, and Jace Fulton Gibson, two sisters in law, Allene Sullivan and Sharon Harbin (Bryant), and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Bobby Lee Harbin, her parents, her grandparents, John and Irma Lawson Yielding of Seattle, Sid and May Wammack Cole of Grenada, the father of her children, Clyde Ray Lyons, one brother Chester William Cole of Grenada, one Sister, Verna Jean Cole Tackett of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and one grandson, Hunter Chase McNatt of Grenada.

Pallbearers will be Josh Allbritton, Greg Clark, Cody Cole, Justin Gibson, Jaxon Williamson and Matt Winter.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Cole and Klayton Winter.
