IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glennis
Patton
May 2, 1952 – July 14, 2021
A celebration of life service will be held for Glennis Patton at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.
Glennis was born on May 2, 1952 and went to her heavenly home on July 14, 2021. She had over 30 years of dedicated employment with the State Department of Health as a registered nurse. She touched the lives on many people through her service. Following retirement, she continued her work as a contract employee with the State of Mississippi. Glennis was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was also instrumental and active with the Christian Women's Job Corp, the Christ Centered Cross, the American Red Cross, and many other service organizations. She loved helping others and was a living example of the two greatest commandments God has given us all to love the Lord your God will all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself.
Glennis was married to the love of her life, Larry, for 44 years. Their marriage was a living example of biblical love and commitment.
One of her greatest joys was cheering her grandchildren on at baseball games, tennis matches, and many other activities. She cherished FaceTime calls with her Texas grandchildren and the trips she and Larry would take there to visit. She adored her grandchildren, and they loved their Granny.
She entered the gates of heaven and received the greatest reward of all, eternal life with Jesus and hearing the words, "well done thy good and faithful servant." She will be greatly missed here on earth but will be rejoicing forever along with Jesus and other believers that have gone before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend James and Audrey Corder and her sister, Elaine Williams. She is survived by her husband Larry Patton; sons Shanon Patton (Ginger) of Grenada, MS and Wesley "Porkchop" Patton (Jill) of San Antonio, TX; two sisters Rachel Woods (James) of Grenada, MS and Charlotte Easley (Jimmy) of Crockett, TX; brothers Chris Corder of Grenada, MS and Johnny Ray Corder (Lori) of Blackshear, GA; four grandchildren, Greyson Patton, Keeton Patton, Griffin Patton, and Hattie Sue Patton, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Christian Women's Job Corps of Grenada or Emmanuel Baptist Church.
