Obituary

Mr. Hal Wayne Deaton, Sr., 83, of Gore Springs, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at his residence.  He was born May 5, 1942 in Minter City to Lonzo Rufus Deaton and Martha Kennedy Deaton.  Hal worked as a Farm Manager for Carr Farms for many years and was a proud US Air Force Veteran.  He also was an antique car enthusiast and loved collecting old signs, bottles and other advertising memorabilia.  He was a member of the Walton Chapel Church of God.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton with Rev. James McElroy and Bro. Ken Salley officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alice Carpenter Deaton; two sons, Hal Wayne Deaton, Jr.(Rachelle) of Gore Springs and Jason Deaton(Angel) of Ripley; six grandchildren, Halle Deaton, Tate Glenn(Jada), Luke Glenn, Holden VanStory, Cadence VanStory and Mason Van Story; and two great-grandchildren, Charlee Tate Glenn and Elora James Glenn.

Hal is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.

Buddy Deaton, Justin Deaton, Luke Glenn, Tate Glenn, Scott Smith and Holden VanStory will honor Hal by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery.
