Obituary

Mrs. Hattie Ray King, 89, of Holcomb, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her residence.  She was born November 16, 1934 in Tallahatchie County to Jessie Newt and Lillian Leona Scallion Taylor.  Mrs. King worked for a number of years at Pennaco Hosiery before joining her husband in their family business, King's Auto Sales.  In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers.  She was a devoted member of the Stonefield Church of God and loved the Lord with all her heart.  Mrs. Hattie Ray will lovingly be remembered by her family as a woman of unwavering faith and a heart of gold.  Her memory will live on in the lives of those she loved for many years to come.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Stonefield Church of God at Cascilla with Rev. Mark Moore and Rev. Farrell Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Family and friends will gather from 12:30 PM until service time Tuesday at the Stonefield Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra King Grantham(Ricky) and Mary Ann King Grantham, both of Holcomb; one son, Johnny Wayne King(Darlene) of Holcomb; one sister, Janice Davis(Albert) of Cabot, AR; two brothers, Norris Taylor(Roseann) of Holcomb and Travis Taylor(Cathy) of Mobile, AL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Tiffany Franklin, Mindy Robinson, Christina Cook and James Wesley King; 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, James Albert King; brothers, Jessie S. Taylor and Curtis Dean Taylor and a son-in-law, Tommy Grantham.

Jake Franklin, James King, Jared Robinson, John Robinson, Matthew Wilson and Zach Wilson will honor Mrs. King by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Stonefield Cemetery.  David Robinson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
