Mrs. Hilda Martin Campbell, a cherished member of the Grenada, Mississippi community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 19, 2025 at the age of 83.  Born on December 9, 1941 and raised in Mantee, MS, Hilda lived a life marked by kindness, dedication and service to others.

Throughout her life, Hilda was known for her commitment to education and healthcare.  She spent many years as an elementary school teacher, inspiring countless young minds with her passion and dedication.  Later, she served as an operator and admissions clerk at the Grenada Lake Medical Center, where her warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.

Hilda's faith was a cornerstone of her life.  She was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church.  Her beautiful voice graced the church choir and she was a shining example of a Proverbs woman to her three daughters.  Her kindness and devotion to her faith and family were evident to all who knew her.

In addition to her professionalism and religious commitments, Hilda was actively involved in the local arts community in Grenada.  She shared her love for the arts and fostered a sense of community among her peers.  Her involvement in these activities showcased her vibrant spirit and desire to connect to others.

Hilda is survived by her loving husband, David Campbell; her three daughters, Charlotte Adams(Doug), Christa Ferguson(Chris) and Karan Boone(Lee); sister, Libby Brand; grandchildren, Steven Adams, Colin Boone(Emily), Adrian Adams, Conner Boone, Catherine Ferguson, Jack Boone and Campbell Ann Ferguson; and her great-grandson, Jackson Boone.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, Oris and Naomi Martin; siblings, Glenda Muirhead and Mack Martin and her beloved granddaughter, Emily Lauren Ferguson.

A service to celebrate Hilda's life will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.  Family, friends and community members are invited to come together from 9:00 AM until service time to honor and remember a remarkable woman who brought joy and compassion to all she encountered.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
