Obituary

Hunter Lane Roberts, age 31, ran into his Father’s arms completely healed on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 12:12 p.m. Born on December 12 (12/12), his family holds the timing of his passing close to their hearts as a special sign from the Lord, a reminder of His presence and comfort even in the midst of tremendous loss.

Hunter was born on December 12, 1994, to Robby and Delana Roberts of Duck Hill. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose humor, caring spirit, and love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Hunter earned his Bachelor's degree in agriculture from Mississippi State University. He had a deep love for farming and enjoyed duck hunting, spending time with his beloved dog, Vegas, and, most of all, making others laugh. Hunter had a gift for bringing joy to those around him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was deeply devoted to his family and friends and would do anything for those he loved.

In the summer of 2008, while attending a back-to-school church retreat, Hunter accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His family finds great comfort in knowing that Hunter’s faith has now become sight and that he has been made whole in the presence of his Heavenly Father.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Robby and Delana Roberts; his brother, Webb Roberts and wife, Maddie; his grandmothers, Dorothy Edwards and Luenette Thornburg; his grandparents, Bobby and Sandy Roberts; his aunts and uncles, Rhonda and Tim Alldread and Jennifer and Craig Morgan; his cousins, Chase Alldread and wife, Abby, Haley DeNoon and husband, Chase, Kyle Morgan and wife, Bailie, and Blake Morgan and wife, Faith; second cousins, Jack & Hank DeNoon, Luke & Rowdy Morgan; and his beloved dog and faithful companion, Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wayne Edwards and Bill Thornburg.

The family will receive friends to celebrate Hunter’s life on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Skye Little, Kyle Morgan, Blake Morgan, Chase Alldread, Chase DeNoon, and Tom Bowers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Miles Jackson, Dillon Toth, Butler Flowers, Trevor Middleton, Justin Perkins, Gibson Campbell, Trevor Moore, Tyler Angle, Houston Harper, Charlie Wilkey, Cody Chamblee, James Wood, Brent Bowman and Travis Wiggins.

Hunter will be remembered for the laughter he brought into a room, the kindness he showed to others, and the unwavering love he had for his family and friends. He was the kind of person who made himself available whenever someone needed him and would do anything for anyone. His life touched countless people, and the memories, laughter, and love he leaves behind will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
