Mrs. Ethel Ida Mae Carpenter, 73, of Cascilla, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital Extended Care Facility. She was born March 11, 1942 in Tallahatchie County to Charlie and Ethel Melton Kendall. She was retired from the Tallahatchie County School District as a bus driver and was a member of North Shady Grove Church of God.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the North Shady Grove Church of God with Rev. Jerry Hill, Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment followed in the North Shady Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Landis Carpenter Kendall (Tim) of Cascilla; a son, Ricky Allbritton (Tammy) of Cascilla; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Cascilla and Ruth Lindley of Holcomb; two brothers, Henry Kendall and Charlie Kendall, both of Cascilla; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey "Boonie" Carpenter; a son, Tommy Glenn Carpenter and a sister, Virginia Sue Kendall.
Pallbearers were Hunter Allbritton, Chad Carpenter, Colton Kendall, Corey Kendall, T.J. Carpenter, Dustin Kendall and Joe Kendall. Honorary Pallbearers were Andrew Allbritton, Colby Kendall and Colston Kendall.
