Irene Hill Trusty McLarty, 90, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her granddaughter's home (Amy and Michael Mims) in Holcomb. She was born December 4, 1926 in Sharp County, AR to Berl "Skipper" and Helen Ellis Hill.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada and was a long time employee for Grenada Hosieru Mill. She also was a former Certified Nurse Assistant. She was a faithful Christ follower, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Friendship Baptist Church at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2017 with Dr. Bob Self, Dr. Brian Robertson and Bro. T. Hill officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at the church. Interment will follow in the Leflore Cemetery under the direction of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
Survivors include two sons, David "Dave" Trusty of Grenada and Jesse Trusty, Jr., (Gail) of Gore Springs; two daughters, Mary Kay Hodges (Eddie) and Barbara McKee (A.D.) both Holcomb; a brother, Ellis Hill (Wilma) of Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren, David Trusty, Jr., Chris Trusty, Nicole Trusty, Wendy Timbs (Justin), Rachel Anthony (Josh Carver), Greg Hodges(Christie), Amy Mims(Michael), Keisha Holland(Eddie), Carmen Correro(Shane), Carla Floyd, Jason Bennett, Lisa Vasquez(Solomon), Holly Shiver(Rodney), Ann Lee(Calvin); twenty-five great-grandchildren, Coltan Trusty, Kendall Trusty, Zeiden Trusty, Harlie Hollis, Anna Hood, Tristan Anthony, Madelyn Anthony, Kaylyn Carver, Meagan Hodges, Jessi Hodges, Jake Hodges, Ethan Mims, Austin Mims, Kylee Mims, Tiffany Mullen, Olivia Holland, Lela Holland, Jade Floyd Meadows (Kenny), River Sims, Ashley Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Stephen Vasquez, Michael Vasquez, Harley Lee and Emily Lee; two great-great-grandchildren, Nathan Meadows and Skylar Meadows. Mrs. McLarty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oren McLarty; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Trusty; a granddaughter-in-law, Denise Trusty; a great-granddaughter, Addisyan Trusty; four brothers, Sherman Hill, Jack Hill, Jesse Hill and Wayne Hill; and four sisters, Maxine Hill, Louise Glenn, Lealon Edwards and Modene Holder.
Pallbearers will be David Trusty, Jr., Chris Trusty, Coltan Trusty, Tristan Anthony, Greg Hodges, Jake Hodges, Jason Bennett and River Sims. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kendall Trusty, Zeiden Trusty, Ethan Mims, Austin Mims, Tyler Boyd and Jesse Earl Rogers.
