Mr. Jackie Ray Hamby, 73, of Grenada, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Grace Health and Rehab. He was born July 3, 1943 in Grenada to Charles and Mary Belle Blissett Hamby. He was a retired star route carrier, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a National Guard Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Brent Barker and Rev. Barry Worrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at McKibben and Guinn and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Turner Hamby; one son, Brian Bain (Lucy) of Yazoo City; two grandsons, Reid Bain and Dixon Bain; one brother, Charles Hamby (Kay) of Lillian, AL and one niece, Jennifer Hedges of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Dixon Bain, Reid Bain, Ed Beach, Bernard Turner, Heath Turner and Ken Turner.
