Mr. James A. Garrett, Sr., 82, of Gore Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born March 5, 1941 in Shaw to Arthur Lee and Lorene Welch Garrett. James was a former Truck Driver.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his daughters, Ginger Asbury and Stephanie Smith; his sons, James Garrett, Jr. and Richard Washburn; one sister, Barbara Biggers; grandchildren, Jessica Washburn, Chris Washburn, Courtney Garrett, Trey Garrett, Chucky Forbes, Melanie Ingle, Valeria Ingle, James Bell and Nicole Page; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, his wife, Hazel Garrett and daughter, Tammy Washburn.
