Obituary

Mr. James William Gray, 83, of Coffeeville, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born September 16, 1933 in Coffeeville to James P. and Clara Harrison Gray. He was a retired machine operator at Heatcraft and also owned his own business for over 35 years. James was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Gray was also actively involved in World Changers and the Yalobusha County Disaster Relief program. He was honored with a resolution for his service to the Yalobusha County Baptist Association in 2009. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and spend time with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating and Mr. Mike Davis delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at Pine Grove Baptist Church. McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service is in charge.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy Tritt Gray of Coffeeville; three daughters, Debra Myhand (Rex) of Guntown, Shelia Davis (Mike) of Plantersville and Melissa Sheffield (Don) of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Cindy Burnette (Tony) of Memphis; one step-son, Scott Hayes(Kelly) of Germantown, TN; two sisters, Betty Tritt and Shirley Edwards (James) of Coffeeville; one brother, Henry Dean Gray of Coffeeville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons, David Ferguson and William Jacob Sheffield.

Pallbearers will be Dillon Burnette, Eric Davis, Jim Edwards, Timothy Edwards, Gaylon Gray, Nikoma Myhand and Ronnie Tritt.
