Mr. James Archie Hood, 83, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born February 20, 1935 in Grenada to Frank James and Opal Cuba Brown Hood. He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Carroll County and was retired after having worked many years at Heatcraft and Louisiana Pacific. Mr. Hood honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Phillip Cook officiating and Mr. Terry Bailey delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Hood Family Plot in the Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include one daughter, Deneen Baughn(Russ) of Hattiesburg; three sons, Jimmy L. Hood(Patricia), Jerry W. Hood and Steve Hood all of Grenada; one sister, Mary Lee Dixon of Grenada; one brother, Bobby W. Hood of Holcomb; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Liles(Curt), Kathy Jones(Davis), Melissa Stokes(Chad), Andrea Mendez(James), Brandon Smith(Kelly), Garrett Baughn, Matthew Hood and Andrew Hood; eight great-grandchildren and Laverne Hood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fannie Mitchell and Sue Schoolfield; and three brothers, Sam, Bill and John W. Hood.
