Sadly, Mr. James Edward Lowe, Sr. age 85, passed away early Sunday morning, March 13, 2022 at Providence Assisted Living Home. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Coffeeville First Baptist Church, Thursday, followed by the service at 2:00. Interment will follow at the Coffeeville Cemetery.

He was born September 30, 1936 in Bruce, Mississippi to the late Jettie and Edward Lowe. He graduated from Coffeeville High School in 1954, attended Northwest Jr. College for one year and served 2 years with the United States Army. James then attended Mississippi State University where he received a degree in Agriculture Education. He then taught Agriculture for 3 years at Redwood High School. He left teaching and was the manager of Onward Plantation for 2 years. He and Nelle move to Grenada and he worked for the Grenada County Extension Service as the 4-H leader. He later became the Assistant County Agent for Grenada County. While working in this position he obtained his Master's Degree from Mississippi State. James later worked for ICI Chemical Company in sales. James retired early and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends.  He also loved to ride horses. He especially enjoyed going to the National Futurity Show in Ft. Worth, Texas every spring.  James was a member of First Baptist Church - Coffeeville.

James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nelle "Sister" Pittman Lowe; one son, Jim Lowe, of Collierville, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Katie Bailey (Andy) and Beth Bright (Dane), both of Grenada. James and Nelle have four great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Libby Griffin (Hilly), of Coffeeville.

James was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lisa Mann.

James was loved by all and will be missed by many.
