Mr. James Willis Steed, 64, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson.  He was born January 5, 1957 in Carmi, IL to Willis Pearlmon and Mary Frances Hutcheson Steed.  Jimmy honorably served our country in the Mississippi Army National Guard for over 30 years.  He was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Grenada Church of God.  Playing golf and video games were among his many hobbies.  Jimmy was a natural when it came to making people laugh and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 4, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Frank Samples officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service Thursday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Gale Boozer Steed; one daughter, Nicole Elise Steed of Grenada; one son, James Christopher Steed of Grenada; three sisters, Agatha Francine Timmons of Grenada, Brenda Lee Davis(Jimmy Dale) of Tippo and Vanessa Loretta Hood(Roy) of Holcomb; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
