Ms. Elizabeth Jane Worthy, 67, of Cadaretta, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born May 11, 1959 in Memphis, TN to Horace Kermit Worthy and Mary Elizabeth Middleton Worthy. Jane was a graduate of Grenada Lake Academy and earned degrees from Northwest Mississippi Junior College and the University of South Alabama in Mobile in Radiologic Sciences. Jane worked as a Radiologic Technician at the Women’s Clinic in Grenada for many years and cultivated many friendships with her patients and work family as well. Jane loved watching Ole Miss Girls’ Basketball and also was a huge fan of Larry Bird and Pat Summit. Anyone who knew Jane knew her affinity to her Border Collies, Bristow and Summit. Jane also loved to go antiquing and could spend hours in a thrift store looking for treasures. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Jacks officiating. Interment will follow in the Worthy family plot in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Survivors include her brother, Joe H. Worthy of Cadaretta; nieces, Olivia Worthy Goode(Taylor) of Grenada and Grace Worthy Garvey(Graham) of Madison; great nieces and nephews, Beckham, Charlotte and Merritt Goode & Hayes Garvey; and lifelong friends, Cynthia Crocker of Calhoun City and Mary Anne & Reb Byrne of Cadaretta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Corbett Worthy and a sister-in-law, Erin Mallory Worthy.
Reb Byrne, Russ Doolittle, Graham Garvey, Taylor Goode, Craig Pittman and Landon Worthy will serve as pallbearers. Jimmy Carver, Joe Hayes and Steve Middleton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
