Mrs. Jean Sivley Gillett, 91, of Oakland, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  She was born January 10, 1932 to Abb Miles and Annie Lovelace Sivley.  Jean was a devoted homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church near Oakland.  She loved to travel and spend time with her friends and family.  Jean possessed a sweet spirit and her kind, gentle ways will long be remembered as her trademark qualities.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Monday, September 18, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.  Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will be held at the Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Courtney Selby officiating .

Survivors include her nephew, Ray Haynes(Marilyn) of Oakland; two great-nieces, Christy Haynes and Kathy Gahr; great-nephew, Kevin Haynes and her special life-long friend, Margaret Jean Ross.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William David Gillett, Sr.; son, William David "Bill" Gillett, Jr.; and a sister, Floy Sivley Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Adams, David Odom, Mike Robinson, Rich Ross, Richard Ross and Tommy Ross.
