Mrs. Jean Clanton Stewart, 86, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Greenwood.  She was born July 12, 1935 in the Spring Hill community of Webster County to Mallory H. and Effie Cooper Clanton.  Jean was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed volunteering and giving of her time to those in need, especially those confined to nursing homes.  She was a member of Bradford Chapel Baptist Church and was formerly a member of First Baptist Church – Manchester, TN where she was very active in many church activities.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Bradford Chapel Cemetery with Dr. Jim Nunnelee and Bro. Ken Salley officiating.

Survivors include a son, Terry Stewart of Grenada and a host of nieces and nephews as well as her beloved cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Robert "Bob" Stewart and her siblings, Braxton Clanton, Melvin Clanton, Travis Clanton, Odean Middleton and Louise Trussell.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to Gideons International.
