IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeanette
Mitchell
June 2, 1938 – March 22, 2025
Mrs. Jeanette Dorman Mitchell, 86, of Rosebloom passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at her home. Mrs. Mitchell was born on June 2, 1938 to Robert and Agnes Dorman of Vaiden.
Jeanette dedicated her life to her family and church where she was a pianist for over 58 years. She was known for cooking food for anyone in need and any special occasions. Jeanette was a dedicated member of Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Mitchell had beautiful penmanship that she used often to send cards and letters to those she loved. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Sr. They were married for 52 years until his passing. She spent most of her adult life working at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada. She worked there for 40 years until her retirement. Jeanette was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children, but nothing brought her more joy than becoming a grandmother and, later, a great-grandmother.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Sr. and son, Ricky Joe Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Price(Rickey) of Grenada; son, Raymond Cecil Mitchell, Jr. of Cullman, AL; daughter-in-law, Becky Mitchell of Rosebloom; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends, Loyce and Stick Stokes.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jerry Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until service time Tuesday at the church.
Will Ballard, Kempe Hodges, Jr., Michael Jones, Bobby Lively, Samy McCracken, Brandon Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell will honor Mrs. Mitchell by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Smith Cemetery. Marion Bishop, Kempe Hodges, Sr., Timmy Mitchell, Steve Ross and Stick Stokes will serve as honorary pallbearers.
