Mr. Jerry Stokes Morgan, 79, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born July 3, 1937 in Grenada to Ausbon and Nellie Gant Morgan. He retired as Superintendent at Luvata (formerly Heatcraft) after 42 years of service and attended Elliott Baptist Church where he was a member for 68 years. Jerry served in the Mississippi National Guard for 27 years and enjoyed being a member of the Masons, Shriners, Crossroads Cruisers Car Club and the Biscuit Pit Coffee Drinkers. The true joy of his life was being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Elliott Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Brinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Elliott Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann Walters Morgan; two sons, Alan Morgan and Dean Morgan (Susannah) all of Memphis; six grandchildren, Chase, Addison, Mackenzie, Maddie, Katie and Payne Morgan; and one brother, Danny Morgan of Hernando.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mazelle Schuler, Callie Papania and Clara Gray Bullock; and six brothers, Clyde, Clint, James, Doc, Sam and Bo Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Joe Farmer, George Mullen, James Doyle Nail, Holly Piner, Robert Lynn Rose, and Mike Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Gibbs, Eugene Lancaster, Judge Mitch Lundy, Troy Mims, Lewis Morgan, Mark Turner, Charles Vance and Barry Williams.

Memorials may be directed to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Elliott Baptist Church Building Fund.
