Mr. Jesse Roscoe Fowler, 85, of Picayune and a native of the Red Hill Community, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 9, 1940, in Red Hill to Fate Fowler and Mary Lake Butts Fowler.
Jesse enjoyed a long and successful career with AT&T, retiring after more than 35 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Picayune Church of Christ and honorably served his country in the Mississippi Army National Guard.
In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed fishing, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends. A devoted family man, he cherished every opportunity to be with those he loved. Known for his warm personality and genuine kindness, Jesse possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel comfortable and valued. He was a gifted conversationalist whose easygoing nature drew people to him, and he could always be found with an outstretched hand, ready to help anyone in need.
Jesse's life was marked by service, generosity, and a sincere love for others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, 14, 2026 at the Red Hill Church of Christ near Duck Hill with Bro. Jeffery King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Saturday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service Sunday at Red Hill Church of Christ.
Survived by his wife Ginette Zabel Fowler, daughter Beverly Leftwich (Allen), son Duane Fowler (Marie), 2 step daughters Amber Wolfkill and Brandi Harbin (Jim); 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his brother Hal Butts Fowler (Judy).
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Mary Lake Fowler, sisters Wanda Berry and Ola Jean Morrow, and his beloved wife of 52 years, Shirley Waters Fowler.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to The Bedford staff and Enhabit Hospice nurses and staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Picayune or Red Hill Church of Christ.
