Mrs. Jewel Dean Black Powell, 85, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. She was born September 15, 1930 in Arkansas to Herbert Gayland and Elvira Fleming Black.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Brendi Davis and Deena Barbee, both of Grenada and Nancy Phillips of Pearl; one son, Hiram Davis, Jr. of Prairieville, LA; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hiram Davis and Harry W. Powell; one brother, Dwayne Black and a grandson, Will Powell.
