Mr. Jimmy Clifton Austin, 82, of Grenada, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born February 19, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to James Clifton Austin and Frances Louise Woodall Austin. Jimmy was a 1965 graduate of John Rundle High School. He spent his entire working life as a mechanic, first working in area dealerships then being self-employed in his own auto repair business for 50 years. Jimmy enjoyed working on his model railroad collection, riding motorcycles and watching NASCAR. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Dixon Austin; son, Chris Austin of Grenada; daughter-in-law, Jodie Koonce Austin; grandchildren, McKenzie Austin, Anna Gail Austin, Jessica Nail Willis and Heather Nail Jenkins; five great-grandchildren, Carter Willis, CJ Willis, Axel Montgomery, Slade Griffin and Paisley Griffin; and a special first cousin, Dwight Austin, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jeff Austin.
