Obituary

Jimmy James Bardo, age 79, of Coffeeville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Born on February 9, 1946, in Coffeeville to Fred and Gertrude Reeves Bardo, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the community and a beloved figure to all who knew him.

Jimmy's career as the owner and operator of B&B Glass in Oxford allowed him to build many lasting relationships with his customers, who valued both his skilled work and his warm, personal touch. A gifted carpenter, he used his expertise to build homes and structures for his family and friends, always demonstrating a remarkable talent for craftsmanship. His handiwork stands as a testament to his dedication and skill, and he will be remembered for his hard work and generosity.

Outside of his work, Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden, often sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors. His kind spirit and willingness to give of himself left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jimmy was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he was known for his quiet faith and steady commitment to his community. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend, and his legacy of kindness, hard work, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, November 21, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church near Coffeeville.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Ann Bardo(Shawn) of Grenada; three sons, Jimmy Dewayne Bardo(Nathan), Michael Anthony Bardo(Mandy) and Brandon Scott Bardo, all of Coffeeville; sister, Shirley Austin of Coffeeville; brothers, Fred and George Bardo, both of Coffeeville; five grandchildren, Hunter Whitten, Andy Bardo, Shannon Clements, Chloe Amiah Bardo and Austin Bardo; and five great-grandchildren, Steve Andrew Bardo, Jr., Farrah Clements, Ainsley Clements, Aden Whitten and Hannah Whitten.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Linda Bardo, Charlene Bardo and Faye Brewster Bardo; sister, Katherine Landreth and three brothers, Monroe, Elvis and Calvin Bardo.

Andy Bardo, Marty Bardo, Shawn Melton, Nathan Pullen, Hunter Whitten and Shannon Whitten will honor Jimmy by serving as pallbearers.
