Obituary

Mr. James Vernon "Jimmy" Easley, 71, of Crockett, Texas, formerly of Grenada, entered fully into the presence of our Lord on September 13, 2021. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life for Jimmy will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County. Brother Trent Jaudon will officiate. Brother Adam Parrish Hartley will officiate the graveside service.
Jimmy was born Jan. 11, 1950, to Roy Vernon and Ethel Estelle Bryant Easley who preceded him in death. He was adored by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte. She was the love of his life. Their marriage was an inspiration and a living example of biblical love and commitment to each other and to their Lord. His boys loved him, and if possible, his grand children loved him more.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Charlotte; sons, Shelton Easley (Tanya) of Porter, Texas and Michael Easley (Tessa) of Crockett, Texas; four grandchildren, Charlyn, Melanie, Audrey, and Jack; two sisters, Laura Rodgers (Danny) of Calhoun City and Judy Brown (Michael Lee) of Bruce; two brothers, Harvey Gene Easley (Gracia) of Brandon and Richard Easley (Carol) of Calhoun City and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
After graduating from Vardaman High School, Jimmy worked 30 years at Heatcraft (McQuay) in Grenada and later in Stone Mountain, GA, and 16 years at Hill Phoenix, Inc. in Conyers, GA, before retiring to Texas to be closer to his grandchildren. He served as an alderman for the City of Duck Hill for eight years.
Jimmy served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Elliott Baptist Church in Elliott. After moving to Crockett, TX, he was a member of First Baptist Church Crockett.
Jimmy loved spending time with his four grandchildren, whom he adored, and attending their activities and school events. Jimmy loved his fur baby and constant companion, Cammie, sports, and was an avid Mississippi State fan. He also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros baseball and the Dallas Cowboys.
He loved all of his nieces and nephews and enjoyed joking with them. Their joking in return delighted him. There was much spoiling of grandchildren, nieces and nephews when Jimmy was with them.
Pallbearers will be Sam Marter, Mark Fielder, Craig Morgan, P.J. Harville, Mitchell Harville and Shane Waters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerone Funderburg, Charles Norris, Mark Harville, Wayne Edwards, Eugene Lancaster, Charles Vance, Steve Marter, and Donald Freely.
