Mr. Jimmy Lee Edwards, 60, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his residence.  He was born June 27, 1964 in Great Britain.  Jimmy was a 1982 graduate of Judson High School in Live Oak, TX where he was a member of the drum line in the high school band.  Jimmy also received honors in mathematics and was a member of the Math Club.  He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcus, TX and received a Bachelors degree in Math and Spanish.

In 2005, he met and married the love of his life, Patricia Walker.  They were happily married for 19 years.  That same year, he also received his Masters in Education degree from Union University in Jackson, TN.  He began his teaching career at Humphrey High School in Humphrey, AR.  He later taught at Indianola, Columbus, Starkville and Strider Academy.  He also did some substitute teaching in the Grenada School System.

His favorite hobbies included attending any sporting event, especially the Dallas Cowboys, reading, traveling and working sudoku.  He and Patricia particularly enjoyed traveling to Ireland, England and Iceland.  Jimmy very much enjoyed his career choice of teaching, especially math and history.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2024 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. John Goldwater officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Walker Edwards of Grenada; brother, Henry O. Edwards, III(Linda) of Live Oak, TX and a nephew, Geoff Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
