Mr. Jimmy Hicks Haynes, 84, of Duck Hill, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at his residence with his family at his side. He was born September 23, 1941 in Duck Hill to Grady and Bobbie Mitchell Haynes. Jimmy drove countless miles as a truck driver through the years having developed friendships far and wide over his 60-year career. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Above all, he found his greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Billy Little officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Haynes; son, Jimmy D. Haynes(Renne); sisters, Glenda Sanford and Sonya Haynes and Glenda Sanford; brother, Terry Haynes; three grandchildren, Brianna Haynes(Scott Johnson), Brady Haynes(Ashlee) and Bailey Haynes Adkins(Zach); and four great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Farmer, Corbin Adkins, Blaire Adkins and Virginia Haynes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Hicks Haynes; sisters, Betty Abel, Sara Laster and Patsy Wilson and brothers, Joe Haynes and Larry Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Zach Adkins, Brady Haynes, Steve Haynes, Scott Johnson, Charles Norris and Ken Sanford.
