Obituary

Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Madison, 73, of Coffeeville, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his daughter's residence in Grenada.  He was born January 19, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to Edward Calvin and Blonnie Clements Madison.  Mr. Madison was a Brazer at Heatcraft and attended First Baptist Church - Coffeeville. He was active in the VFW for many years where he placed VFW Flags in Coffeeville and was also a Vietnam veteran. He loved going to the blues festival.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at First Baptist Church - Coffeeville with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coffeeville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his two daughters, Emily Purdy (Jason) of Coffeeville and Amanda Hanks (Eric) of Grenada; his brother, William Madison(Wanda) of Grenada; his sister, Beverly Russell(James) of Senatobia; and his four grandchildren: Madison Purdy, Makayla Purdy, Jonah Hanks and Elinore Hanks.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Tommie Bowers, Clayton Bowers, Howie Williams, Scott Garlington, Tony Herring and Bryan McCullough.
