Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Rutkowski, 41, of Memphis, formerly of Grenada, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at his residence. He was born November 20, 1984, in Portsmouth, Virginia. A graduate of Grenada High School, Jimmy later completed the lineman program at Holmes Community College. He honorably served in the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Jimmy was an avid golfer who cherished the time he spent on the course with friends. A man of faith, he was a Christian and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Tim McCaffrey and Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Jimmy will be laid to rest at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Faulkner of Moscow, Russia; father, Joe Rutkowski(Melanie) of Grenada; grandmother, Kay Bridges of Grenada; sisters, Brandy Garrett(Tommy) of Grenada and Lauren Murphy(Bill) of Southaven; brothers, Chris Faulkner(Angela) of Knoxville, TN, Joe Rutkowski(Kelly) of Hobart, IN; Benjamin Rutkowski(Heather) of Ft. Wayne, IN; Matthew Upp(Alexandra) of Clinton and Jonathan Upp(Kadi) of Grenada; and an aunt, Bonnie Rader of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millie Faulkner, M.J. Rutkowski, Sr., Helen Katherine Rutkowski; step-mother, Jan Rutkowski and an aunt, Marguerite Sitz.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers include Chris Faulkner, Tommy Garrett, Bill Murphy, Basil Rutkowski, Ben Rutkowski, Joe Rutkowski, Jonathan Upp and Matt Upp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to God’s House of Hope in Kilmichael or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
