Mrs. Joan Baughn Breland, 88, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at her residence.  She was born August 30, 1936 in Lexington to Walter Julian Baughn and Adeline Perry Baughn.  Joan grew up in Pickens and attended Holmes Agricultural High School and Holmes Community College.  She enjoyed a banking career that spanned several decades with Deposit Guaranty Bank in Jackson, Bank of Clarksdale, Bank of Yazoo City and Bank of Mississippi as she followed her husband's promotions.  After retiring, she was a faithful volunteer at the Gift Shop in the Grenada hospital and a devoted member of First Methodist Church – Grenada.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at First Methodist Church in Grenada with Rev. Daniel Herring officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until service time Tuesday at First Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Erickson of Fairhope, AL and Lisa Saxton(Lackey) of Banner; son, Elton "Blue" Breland of Gore Springs; sister, Lillian Putnam(Clarence) of Ellisville; six grandchildren, Will Erickson, Andy Saxton, Brooks Breland(Kristy), Ann Latham Pugh(Joe), Aly Smith(Jordan) and Justin Breland; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bo Breland; sister, Frances Cox and brother, Bill Baughn.

Pallbearers will be Bo Maddox Breland, Miles Breland, Joseph Pugh, Sam Pugh, Drew Michael Sands, William Sands, Conner Saxton and Drew Saxton.

Memorials may be directed to First Methodist Church – Grenada or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
