Jodie
Searcy
August 13, 1944 – March 28, 2026
Jodie Searcy was many things: a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a doting grandmother.
In her youth, she was a formidable basketball player. She was a caring sister and a daughter any parent would be proud to have.
In 1963, she married Ray Searcy and remained devoted to him until her final days.
Jodie was a homemaker—work that often goes unseen. She raised two beautiful children, whom she cherished deeply and spoke of with great pride.
One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. She embraced every opportunity to show her love for them—whether as a caretaker, a cheerleader, or a playmate.
She also had a love for all things green and growing. She found joy in gardening and could often be found tending to her plants around the house. Music brought her happiness as well, and she particularly enjoyed Elvis.
Above all, Jodie loved God. Her Bible was never far from her side—it was her constant source of strength and guidance.
Jodie’s impact is reflected in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and siblings. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who loved her family.
She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Davis(Jonathan) of Chelsea, AL; son, Mel Searcy(Leta) of Grenada; sister, Shirley Huguley of Booneville; five grandchildren, Grant Searcy, Mollie Searcy, Morgan Davis, Cloie Davis and Jon Rylee Searcy; and one great-granddaughter, Aria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ruby Killough Odle; husband, Kenneth Ray Searcy; sister, Kay Johnson and brother, Jerry Odle.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at the Antioch Cemetery near Rienzi where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, parents and other cherished family.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of Providence Assisted Living for the exceptional care provided to Jodie during her last days.
