Mr. Joe Howard Britt, 83, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was born May 1, 1932 in Walnut Grove, MS to Yarbrough Franklin and Cornelia Wallace Britt. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a retired branch manager for Lance Inc. where he worked 42 years. Joe was also a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and helping other people.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 26, 2015 from the Chapel of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Interment will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Jackye Staton Britt of Grenada; two daughters, Jamie Britt Farish (Heath) of Independence and Julie Britt Dunn (Mike) of Folsom, CA; two brothers, Danny Britt of Cleveland, TN and Ray Britt of Walnut Grove; and six grandchildren Brittany Dunn, Kandice McDaniel, Macey McDaniel, Jordan Dunn, Mary Elizabeth Farish and Kylie Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Dale Britt and Charlie Britt.
Pallbearers will be Steve Britt, Jeff Counts, Bobby Heath, Jerry Huddleston, Kent Kealhofer, Joe Monteith, Johnny Starling and James Tharpe. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Dr. Tom Holden's Sunday School Class.
