Mr. Joseph Earl "Joe" Turner, Jr., 82, of Grenada, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis. He was born October 30, 1933 in Carroll County to Joseph Earl and Lennie DuBard Turner. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force Veteran being discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had worked at Pennaco Hosiery for over 25 years and spent the latter part of his career as a self-employed plumber.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Haimes, Rev. Rickey Harris, Rev. Fletcher Moorman and Rev. Mark Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service all at Enon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dot Turner; one daughter, Brenda Renee Turner Williamson (Harvey) of Charleston; one son, James Earl Turner (Monica) of Bryant, AR; one sister, Mary Nell Day of Grenada; six grandchildren, Krystian Turner, Cameron Turner, Heather Turner, Bradley Williamson, Christopher Williamson and Joshua Turner and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Sanford Bennett, Michael Parker, Cameron Turner, Joshua Turner, Bradley Williamson, Christopher Williamson, Chase Young and Dakota Young. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.E. Bennett, Charlie Breland, Roger Havens, J.A. Hoop, Jimmy Perry, Robert Simmons and Joel Turnipseed.
Memorials may be directed to the Enon Baptist Church Air Conditioning Fund.
