Mr. John Eugene Futhey, Sr., 81, of Grenada, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley.  He was born October 23, 1939 in Grenada to Guy Eugene "Skeet" Futhey and Dorris Branscome Futhey.  Mr. Futhey retired as a Salesman with Panola Paper Company and had previously worked for Little Debbie and the Illinois Central Railroad.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting antiques.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Duck Hill Cemetery with Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Short(Scott) of Grenada; one son, John Eugene Futhey, Jr.(Theresa) of Henderson, NV; one brother, Bill Futhey of Pontotoc; and two grandsons, Tyler Short and Seth Short, both of Grenada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Patty Futhey.
