Mr. John William Greenhaw, 81, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his daughter's residence. He was born March 20, 1937 in Huntsville, AL to Alvia Lee Colman Greenhaw and Lena Estelle Gwatney Greenhaw. He was a retired diesel mechanic and a faithful member of the Stonefield Church of God. John was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica in local churches for over 70 years.  He loved working on tractors in his yard in his spare time and if he had to be inside he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball.  His faith in God was strong and it showed each and every day to everyone around him. Most called him Johnny but he loved it the most when you called him "Papa".

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 at Stonefield Church of God with Pastors Mark Moore and Farrell Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Friday at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy L. Greenhaw and Stacy Blake (Chris), all of Grenada; two sisters, Sarah Peace of Laceys Springs, AL and Annie Ruth Johnson of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Elvia Greenhaw of Tupelo and Oliver Greenhaw of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Evan, Zach (Jennifer), Hayz and Drew McClain; and five great-grandchildren, Malori, Alysa, Aleya and Kaysen McClain and Rylan Hodges.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary B. Greenhaw and a daughter, Marie Greenhaw.

Pallbearers will be Chris Blake, Drew McClain, Hayz McClain, Zach McClain, Evan McClain and Marshall Ballard.
