Mr. John Mack James, 85, of Gore Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 25, 1931 in Grenada County to Howard Clarence and Elva McCuiston James. He was a member and deacon of Gore Springs Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. John Mack retired as Supervisor of the Tool and Die Department at Heatcraft after working there nearly 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2016 at Gore Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Fletcher Moorman officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bobbie James; three daughters, Jonie Blakely and her husband, Larry of Gore Springs, Vickie Robinson and her husband, Earl of Duck Hill and Cheryl Keen and her husband, Lewis of Gore Springs; 11 grandchildren, Leah Blakely Clark, Jonathan Blakely, Nic Robinson, Victor Robinson, Jenny Lynn Blakely Hill, Brittany Keen Dudley, Brice Robinson, Breeann Robinson, Wesley Keen, Corey Blakely and Austin Keen; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank James.
Pallbearers will be Corey Blakely, Jonathan Blakely, Austin Keen, Wesley Keen, Brice Robinson, Nic Robinson and Victor Robinson.
