Mr. John "Johnny" Liberto, 64, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born November 28, 1951 in Cefalù, Sicily to Mr. and Mrs. Ross Liberto. He was a graduate of John Rundle High School and the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. He worked for several area pharmacies, most recently at Calhoun Health Services in Calhoun City. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada with Father Sam Messina officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Survivors include his companion, Martha Grace Hall of Grenada; three sisters, Angela Liberto Brunson and her husband, Bill, Mary Liberto and Teresa Liberto Owens and her husband, Luther, all of Grenada; four nieces, Brook Brunson Burnham, Mary Lauren Brunson, Leigh Christian and Nina Christian; and one great-nephew, Blake Burnham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be John Artiby, Freddy Brown, Ben Burnham, Rodney Lopez, Luther Owens and Richard Wolmart.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, (1101 Northchase Parkway Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067) and to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), (PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929) in memory of John Liberto.
