IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Moorman
September 17, 1946 – January 23, 2023
Mr. John Larry Moorman, 76, of Grenada, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at his son's residence. He was born September 17, 1946 in Tallahatchie County to Elmer Fletcher and Allie Mae Huddleston Moorman. John honorably served our country in the US Army and earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Mississippi State University. John worked as an agriculture teacher in the Lafayette and Grenada School Districts prior to his retirement. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a dedicated genealogist having traced his (and others') lineage back for many generations. Above all, John was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and had faithfully served as a Deacon in the Southern Baptist Church. While we mourn his death, we also celebrate his life and know that his faith has now become sight.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Hal Bates officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Tallahatchie County. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Wednesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Moorman, Mac Moorman, Paul Moorman, Raymond Moorman and Stewart Moorman, all of Grenada; and four grandchildren, Shelby, Carrie, Abe and Anna Moorman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kerron Briscoe Moorman; four sisters, Myrtle Moorman, Ocean Hand, Mildred Martin and Bonnie Pyburn; and five brothers, James Clifton, J.T., Arnold, Joe and Dewey Moorman.
