Mr. John Wayne Staten of Holcomb, MS, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at his home.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Howard Staten and his mother, Roxie Sherrill Staten.

He leaves his sister, Linda Staten of Olive Branch, MS.

John was a retired teacher, who last taught at West Tallahatchie School System.  John was an avid reader, a history buff and a dog lover.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
