Mr. John Harold "Johnny" Long, 69, of Holcomb, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 24, 1948 in Big Creek to Martin Alexander and Essie Lewis Long. Johnny retired as a route salesman with Mid-South Produce. He was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church, an animal lover and a model train collector.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev. David Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Holcomb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday evening and one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Edwards Long; one daughter, Ann Long Johnson of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Tiffany Owen, Cameron Owen and Mary Kate Johnson; one sister, Aline White of Madison and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Becky Walters and Brenda Jennings and a brother, Martin Earl Long.

Pallbearers will be Michael Edwards, Daniel Hoss, Jason Jennings, Robbie Jennings, Trey Lance and Robert Walters. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Bailey, Donald Edwards and Ronald Edwards.

Memorials may be directed to the Hope Animal Sanctuary.
