Mrs. Brenda Joy Allen Long, 72, of Duck Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada.  She was born February 25, 1951 in Grenada to Clanton and Gladys Opal Dacus Allen.  Joy worked for a number of years for Grenada Farms and later for Cook's Portable Buildings.  She enjoyed taking pictures, reading her Bible and crocheting.  She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and enjoyed worshiping with other believers at Hebron Baptist Church where she was a member.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Duck Hill.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Long; two sons, Robert Price of Georgia and Chuck Long of Duck Hill; sister, Kay Miller of Grenada; two brothers, John Wayne Allen(Judy) of Tyrone, GA and Dennis Allen of Big Creek; granddaughter, Olivia Price of Brooklyn, NY; a special friend whom she loved like a sister, Karen Bennett and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Dacus Allen.

Pallbearers will be Lensy Allen, Gary Bennett, Jonathan Frady, Steven Frady, Roy Haley and Mike Poe.  J.E. Bennett will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
