Mrs. Joyce Stafford Smith, 89, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Grenada. She was born November 23, 1930 in Winona to Willie Lee and Gladys Oliver Stafford. Joyce was a graduate of Winona High School and Holmes Junior College. She enjoyed a long career with South Central Bell where she earned many awards over her 30 year career. After retiring from South Central Bell, she enjoyed another successful career with World Book Encyclopedias where she rose to the title of Division Manager. While Joyce was revered for her strong work ethic, she was equally respected for the work she did to better her community. Joyce was a member of First United Methodist Church of Grenada, the Grenada Pilot Club and Daughters of the American Revolution. One of her quotes to live by was "Prayers should be the key to the day and the lock to the night." She will be missed by her family and friends, but we find peace in knowing she has heard the words "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2020 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Jimmy Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Monday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two sons, Tracy Smith of Grenada and Cole Smith(Julie) of Jackson; one sister, Elsie Stafford Bloodworth of Collierville, TN; four grandchildren, Brandon Smith(Kelley) of Grenada, Andrea Mendez(James) of Gulfport, Matthew Smith of Oxford and Meredith Suggs(Bryan) of Charlotte, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Baylor Smith, Skye Mendez and Austin Suggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred C. Smith, Sr.; two sisters, Patricia Ann French and Margaret Stafford and two brothers, Oliver "Popeye" Stafford and Walton Stafford.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Matt Smith, Haley Bennett, Lane Bennett, Bryan Doty and Craig Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Harmon, Bill Dean, Dan McClain, Herbert Townsend, Sam Testa and Eddie Cooper.
