Mr. JT "Jake" Martin, 90, of Coffeeville, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  He was born June 17, 1935 in Water Valley to Henry and Chessie Lou Few Martin.  Jake retired as a Foreman with McQuay/Heatcraft in Grenada with over 40 years of service.  He also honorably served our country in the US Navy.  An avid outdoorsman, Jake enjoyed hunting(especially quail) and fishing.  He was deeply devoted to his family and enjoyed coaching his boys' baseball teams when they were growing up.  Jake took on the role of a father figure to many through the years and was influential in the shaping of many young men.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Bro. Glenn Burney officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Yalobusha County.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Sarah Beth "Sadie" Martin; three sons, Charles "Bubba" Martin of Coffeeville, Paul Allen Martin(Tanya) of Oxford and Billy Scott Martin(Jennifer) of Coffeeville; one sister, Shirley Ann Martin Moore of Water Valley; three grandchildren, Channing Martin, Ashley Martin and Amelia Martin Palmer(Jacob); four great-grandchildren, Hadley Martin, Sarah Martin, James Henry Palmer and Chandler Martin and several nieces and nephews.

Jake is preceded in death by his parents.

Gaylon Gray, Channing Martin, Kenneth Moore, Michael Moore, Tony Moore and Ray Schmitz, III will honor Jake by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.  Brad Jeffreys, Roger Kendall, Steve Latza, Jason Moore and his co-workers at Heatcraft will serve as honorary pallbearers.
