Mrs. Judith Ann "Judy" Wilson Carroll, 83, of Grenada, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 at her residence. She was born November 28, 1940 in Alva to Talmadge Raymond "Red" and Eselle James Wood Wilson. Judy was a standout basketball player and graduate of Calhoun City High School. She later earned a degree from Holmes Junior College. Judy enjoyed a career spanning over 35 years with the Mississippi Unemployment Security Commission. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada and also attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. Judy loved shopping and was always the first to be ready to go on a shopping trip. Judy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She never missed a football or basketball game her grandchildren played in and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada with Dr. Brent Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Carroll Denley(Greg) of Grenada; son, Ramie Carroll(Tina) of Grenada; three brothers, Paul Wilson, Sr.(Jenny) of Canton, Jerry Wilson(Mary Earl) of Frisco, TX and Toby Wilson(Terri) of Alva; two grandchildren, Gunner Hudspeth and Carley Hudspeth; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray Carroll.
Andy Bell, Gene Bell, Brooks Wilson, Clay Wilson, Drew Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Mark Wilson and Paul Wilson, Jr. will honor Judy by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.
