Judy Tritt Gray passed peacefully from her earthly body on February 15, 2025. She leaves behind her children: Scott Hayes (Kelly), Cindy Burnette, Debra Myhand (Rex), Sheila Davis (Mike), and Melissa Sheffield (Don), as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Judy was born on December 7, 1938, into a large Christian farming family in Crossroads, TN—a family that only grew bigger and better. She had five brothers, five sisters, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She married young and moved to Memphis, where she raised two children, Cindy and Scott, while working in various administrative roles and serving at Graceland Baptist Church.

Her life took a big step up in 1978 when her brother Larry introduced her to his brother-in-law, James William Gray. They married, and she moved to the quieter world of Pine Grove, MS. She was blessed with three new daughters: Debra, Sheila, and Melissa.

Judy's love for Jesus, her close-knit community, and her family grew as the years passed. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone in her life feel like they mattered most. She loved reading books recommended by her sisters and the local librarian, talking on the phone with friends and family, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

A service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Yalobusha County. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside ceremony for family will follow in the church cemetery.

Dillon Burnette, Zach Hunter, Nikoma Myhand, Eric Davis, Gray Myhand and Case Sanders will honor Judy by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
