June Carole Hester Mixon, 66, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by family. June was the daughter of the late Clyde Simpson Hester and Frances Eloise Dickerson Hester of Sallis. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gene Mixon; two daughters, Jacqueline Burrell Wise of Canton and Amber Mixon Truitt (Norris) of Greenwood; one son, Christian Burrell (Tracey) of Sallis; one step-daughter, Angie Miller of Crystal Springs; one brother, George Hester (Patricia) of Sallis and nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clyde Edward Hester and a step-daughter, Sharon Lynn Mixon.
June was a member of Sparta United Methodist Church in Holcomb. Despite her long illness, she was the joy and delight of everyone she met. She loved her Lord and her family and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Sparta United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Shepherd and Rev. Ricky Reece officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Joel Love, Eli Watkins, Adam Hester, Jason Hester, Jonbob Wise and Norris Truitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carson Burrell and Jake Truitt.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, the American Lupus Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
